The project phase of the 5th International Polar Year (IPY-5) begins in 2026 and will culminate in intensive coordinated polar research during 2032–2033. IPY-5 will connect major initiatives including Antarctica InSync and preparations for a joint IASC–SCAR Polar Conference in 2030.
